I have created this website mainly for my LAN Parties, a place on the web for my friends to share with others the fun we have at these events. I have a list of things to bring to each LAN Party along with a little history of my LAN Parties. I also wanted to share with everyone my Computer set-up and thoughts I have on gaming related issues. When I first started gaming I used my first name in single player games, but when deciding to go on-line I knew I needed an alias, not wanting to give any personal info out to the web. I thought and thought, but could not think of anything original. Shortly after my divorce I went shopping to replace all the stuff the Ex took with her. Of course I came home with more electronic toys than I had when I was married. A friend of mine came over to visit a few days after my shopping spree and commented on all the electronic gizmos I had. That statement sparked in my mind, and Gizmo-guy was born. The first game I played after deciding on my new nickname would not allow a space in the name and I did not care for GizmoGuy, so I used "-" to separate Gizmo from guy, that is why I spell it as I do. That was 1997 when I came up with my nickname, it has not changed since and never will. I am Gizmo-guy! |
